FREE CENSUS DATA WITH YOUR MAP
All of our ZIP code maps now come with free Census data for each of
the ZIP codes and populated places that fall within the map coverage.
This information is provided in two electronic files, one for ZIP
code data and one for populated place data. Each file is a pipe
| delimited text file that can easily be imported into Excel or any
other spreadsheet or database software program . If you request
a printed map, this data will be sent with your map on diskette.
If you request to receive your map in electronic format, you will be
able to download it with your map.
Your free Census data file that comes with your map includes data
cells from Summary File 3 (SF3) from the 2000 U.S. Census that are
listed below. The items in bold (below) are the column headers
in your file and also correspond with the official names of the data
cells provided by the Census Bureau for this Summary File.
Please note that most of the data in SF3 are sample data asked of
only a percentage of the total population (which is why the the
100-percent counts do not match the sample counts). Only the
cells below that are labeled "100-PERCENT" are based on
data asked of everyone and all other cells are sample data.
Also, note that data may be suppressed by the Census Bureau if it
does not meet specific minimum thresholds, in order to protect
confidentiality (which may result in values of zero if the specified
area did not meet the threshold).
